- 3 / 5By S CookMy husband's family has visited this restaurant for 20+ years, and always loved it. On our last visit in late 2016 we found it had changed. Not so much the decor, though the entryway has been redone, but the food is not the same as when the elders were alive and running the place. If you enjoy frozen food and microwaved stuff served by unexciting and slow moving staff, this is the place for you. Gone are the tasty southern/beachy dishes and homey feel. It's just another mediocre diner now, and not worth the long drive out there any more. Our family (3 generations) is sad and disappointed with the new and (not so) improved Big E's.May 11, 2017
